Raindrops

The darkness swells around us,
As the rain clouds fill the air,
In the distance, thunder moans.
As I watch from my easy chair.

Those first few streaks of lightening,
Slither through the sky.
I lower my paper gently,
As it reflects upon my eye.

I get a bit more cozy,
As I settle in to watch,
With ears open and alert,
I await the first few drops.

Another crash of thunder,
Chased by lightening bright.
One drop following another,
As I drift off for the night.
