July 4th

With a patriotic feeling,
We gather once a year,
To watch the blackened night sky,
Light up in good cheer.

We sit amidst the grasses,
On hillsides everywhere,
With strangers all around us,
Though we have no fear.

Our hearts swell up inside us,
As the music starts to play,
And patriotism fills the air,
While watch the big display.

Remembering all who've died,
So we could all be free.
In this gracious land of ours,
There's hope for you and me.

So let us all remember this,
As we go about our life,
This patriotism that we felt.
In the hot month of July.
